Diego Lugano out injured against England
Uruguay captain Diego Lugano has been ruled out of his country’s upcoming crunch match against England in Group D.

After suffering a shock early defeat to Costa Rica, Uruguay's chances of progressing to the knockout stages of the World Cup have taken another blow as captain Diego Lugano has been ruled out of the England game with a knee injury.
With Uruguay and England having both lost their first games, the match will be crucial to decide who can escape from the tricky group, and the loss of Lugano, who was captaining the side, will be a bitter blow to their chances.
Lugano had been criticised for suffering a very poor season at West Brom in the English Premier League, but started against Costa Rica in the opening game. Liverpool centre-back Sebastian Coates is the most likely replacement for the 33-year-old.
Uruguay already have problems in defence as right-back Maximiliano Pereira is already absent for the game due to suspension after being sent off in the dying minutes of the 3-1 defeat to Costa Rica.
