Netherlands vs. Mexico, World Cup 2014: How to watch online

If you’re not near a TV for Mexico’s meeting with the Netherlands, don’t worry. There are plenty of live streaming options available.

Mexico managed to squeeze through a pretty tough group, though they now face their hardest test yet in the first knockout round (12 p.m. ET, ESPN). That's Louis van Gaal's Netherlands, who have perhaps been the most impressive team in the tournament so far, brushing the reigning champions Spain aside before managing to keep the ever-exciting Chile quiet in the group stages. At present, they're one of the favourites to win the entire World Cup.

However, Mexico may well be happy to see that van Gaal has named a pretty experimental-looking lineup for their clash in Fortaleza. Wing-back Paul Verhaegh has surprisingly been handed his competitive debut in place of Daryl Janmaat down the right, while Dirk Kuyt and Georginio Wijnaldum also retain their places. While Mexico certainly wouldn't have anticipated facing such a team, van Gaal has taken a risk in leaving some of his regulars out.

Then again, Mexico are themselves having to deal with a minor switch in the midfield, with the suspension to their deep midfielder José Juan Vázquez meaning coach Miguel Herrera has been forced into changing his starting lineup for the first time at the tournament so far. The experienced Carlos Salcido will come in to protect the back line in his absence.

If you live in the USA and want to catch the game online in English, head over to Watch ESPN, assuming you get access through your internet or TV provider. They'll also have a tactical camera and Portuguese audio. Don't get access to Watch ESPN, or prefer to watch El Tri in Spanish? Univision En Vivo is where you should go.

You can find the match on ITV Player in the UK, while it'll be on CBC Sports streaming in Canada. There are listings available for other countries as well at Live Soccer TV.
