Germany vs. Algeria, 2014 World Cup: Time, TV schedule

Over their last two matches, Germany haven't looked like the convincing World Cup contenders everyone expected them to be coming into the tournament. They thrashed Portugal 4-0 in their opener, but they were poor in a draw against Ghana and unimpressive in a one-goal win over the United States. Could they be ripe for an upset against Algeria?

To many, the Algerians were the fourth-favorites to get out of their group, but they gave Belgium all they could handle and were comfortably better than Russia and South Korea. There's no reason to believe they aren't a very credible threat to the Germans.

Germany are still dealing with a number of fitness issues, adding to the upset potential in this match. Bastian Schweinsteiger, Sami Khedira and Mats Hummels all appear to be struggling for fitness as they have been throughout the tournament. Meanwhile, Algeria have a clean bill of health and a versatile stable of midfielders and attackers, meaning they can set up in a number of different ways, and Jogi Löw probably won't be able to guess exactly what Algeria will throw at him.
