— Sky Sports News (@SkySportsNews) June 5, 2014 The injury occurred in the 63rd minute of England friendly at Sun-Life Park in Miami, Fla. when Ecuador midfielder Carlos Gruezo fell awkwardly into Oxlade-Chamberlain's leg, causing his knee to buckle.
While there's yet to be an official announcement out of the England camp, it appears that Roy Hodgson has a decision to make about whether to leave Oxlade-Chamberlain on the 23-man roster or to replace him with on of his stand-by options. There's been plenty of media speculation about who Hodgson might call-up to replace Ox should the need arise.
Manchester United midfielders Michael Carrick and Tom Cleverley are the leading candidates.
