    Jozy Altidore netted both goals for the U.S., giving the striker the big breakout match he needed after not scoring for club or country since December 4, 2013.

    The U.S. started sluggishly, giving Nigeria the ball, but they did well at the back to keep goalkeeper Tim Howard from being tested. After 10 minutes, the U.S. began to find their stride and once they did, they began to dominate the match.

    Nigeria offers a good combination of athleticism and skill in attack and has a rock-solid midfield, anchored by John Obi Mikel and Ogenyi Onazi. Their style of play -- especially with their talented wingers cutting inside -- will give the U.S. a good idea of what they’ll face in Ghana. And they’re better than the Black Stars in defense and goal, so it couldn’t be a better warm-up.

    Close to half the team would at least have to give some thought as to which box they’d check on the census. It’s surely the most ethnically diverse team in the World Cup. Klinsmann did not set out to do this on purpose, but it’s beautiful nonetheless.
