Agüero was substituted in their group stage victory over Nigeria with a tournament-ending muscular tear, and there were doubts over whether Lavezzi or Rodrigo Palacio would replace him. However, coach Alejandro Sabella has opted for the former, in a move that will likely see Lionel Messi start to the right of main striker Gonzalo Higuaín.
Switzerland are unchanged from their victory over Honduras, with Fabian Schär keeping his place at centre-back over Philippe Senderos, and Admir Mehmedi continuing to edge out Valentin Stocker to a spot on the left side of their attack.
