Chelsea have reached an agreement to sign Atlético Madrid striker Diego Costa, according to a statement on their website. The article revealed that the Blues have activated the Spaniard's buy-out clause, which is believed to be around £32 million:
Chelsea reach agreement to sign Diego Costa
Chelsea have announced that they’ve reached an agreement to buy Diego Costa from Atlético Madrid.

“Chelsea Football Club can confirm an agreement has been reached with Atletico Madrid for the transfer of Diego Costa, with Chelsea meeting the buy-out clause for the Spanish international.”
The transfer has seemed in the offing for a while, so the announcement doesn’t come as a great surprise. He’s not yet a Chelsea player, though ironing out any outstanding contractual issues shouldn’t take too long. Expect the deal to be completed in the very near future.
There's no doubt that Costa's signing will be a great help to Chelsea, who've been lacking in a genuinely top class striker for a while. With Fernando Torres unable to recapture the form he showed at Liverpool and Demba Ba seemingly not good enough for an elite club, the Spaniard will add much-needed firepower to José Mourinho's attack.
