World Cup 2014: Start time and TV schedule for Germany vs. Argentina
How to catch the 2014 World Cup final between Argentina and Germany on your glowing picture box.

About a year ago, Germany and Argentina were the favorites to get to the World Cup final. They were both healthy and cruising in qualifying, while Brazil were in shambles. After Luiz Felipe Scolari took over for the hosts and seemingly turned them around, the Brazilians were expected to win the tournament and send away the ghosts of 1950 forever, but instead, the early favorites have found a second wind and one of them will become champions again.
Argentina and Germany have had a similar wait to add another World Cup to their trophy case. The Albiceleste lifted the trophy in 1986 as hosts, led by Diego Maradona, but their most famous player couldn’t lead them to a repeat win. West Germany downed the Argentinians in the 1990 final, and they haven’t repeated the feat since merging with the East.
The winners of the Golden Ball and Golden Glove awards look almost certain to come from this match, while Thomas Müller can claim the Golden Boot with one goal. Neither team has looked like the tournament’s most spectacular, but it’s hard to argue that they aren’t the two best.
Germany are coming off a much different semifinal than their opponents, having thrashed Brazil, 7-1. For the first time in the entire tournament, Bastian Schweinsteiger and Sami Khedira looked fully fit, and they steamrolled the Brazilians. Argentina, meanwhile, needed a penalty shootout to break a 0-0 tie with the Netherlands. Those results mean Germany's the favorite on Sunday, but is anyone really willing to bet against Lionel Messi?
