Manuel Neuer wins Golden Glove, Paul Pogba takes Best Young Player

Manuel Neuer has won the 2014 World Cup's Golden Glove as the tournament's best goalkeeper, while Paul Pogba has been named the Best Young Player.

Neuer wowed spectators with a string of impressive performances en route to lifting the trophy with Germany. He was a perfect embodiment of a sweeper keeper; charging off his line to make crucial last-ditch tackles with an astonishing precision. Without him, there's a good chance Germany would've been eliminated against Algeria in the first knockout round. As it is, they're champions for the first time since 1990.

Meanwhile, Pogba shone in a France team that underperformed in Brazil. Didier Deschamps' side were strong enough to really shine, though were eliminated by Germany in the quarterfinals. That was despite the efforts of their wonderkid midfielder, who performed with his usual industry in the centre of the pitch. Capable of tough tackling and delicate passing, he's a wonderful all-rounder. Don't worry world, he'll back for a good few World Cups yet.
