Newcastle United have continued their prolific summer spending spree with the capture of Daryl Janmaat from Feyenoord. The Dutch full-back has signed a six-year contract with the Magpies, and has reportedly set them back around €6 million.

Janmaat's arrival paved the way for Mathieu Debuchy's departure to Arsenal, with the Dutchman a like-for-like defensive replacement. It's impressively swift business from the Magpies, who are expected to be left with some spare change after the Debuchy deal is completed.
At 24, Janmaat is four years Debuchy's junior, and was linked with a few Premier League giants before making the move to Newcastle. He was part of Louis van Gaal's Netherlands squad at the World Cup in Brazil, where he was used in a wing-back role, and made 30 league appearances for Feyenoord last season.
He's Newcastle's sixth arrival of the summer, after Siem de Jong, Jack Colback, Ayoze Pérez, Rémy Cabella and Emmanuel Riviere.
