Didier Drogba has sealed a sensational return to Chelsea, two years after departing Stamford Bridge in the aftermath of netting the Blues' winning penalty in the Champions League final. The striker has signed a one-year contract.

— Chelsea FC (@chelseafc) July 25, 2014 Since leaving Chelsea, the 36-year-old club legend has spent time in China with Shanghai Shenhua and in Turkey with Galatasaray, though left the latter on a free transfer this summer. He was strongly linked with a move to Serie A giants Juventus, but they opted to move for Real Madrid youngster Álvaro Morata instead.
That has paved the way for Drogba to return to the club at which he spent eight years, having first arrived at Chelsea from Marseille in 2004 under the incumbent manager José Mourinho.
At his age, Drogba is unlikely to find the scoring form that saw him twice win the Premier League Golden Boot, though as a rotation player, he's an excellent option -- and almost certainly more useful than Fernando Torres.
