Alan Pulido has a contract with Liga MX side UANL Tigres, but he's in Greece to negotiate a deal with Olympiacos, even though the two clubs haven't agreed on a fee. Why? Because he claims his contract with Tigres is illegal. As far as Pulido is concerned, he's available on a free transfer to any club outside Mexico.
Alan Pulido claims he has illegal contract, trying to leave Tigres
Liga MX says the Mexican international is under contract with Tigres and can’t leave on a free, but he disagrees -- and he’ll probably win an appeal.

He might have a point. Pulido signed a rolling contract that renews every two years when he was a youth player. These contracts have been declared illegal by FIFA, and players now have to consent to renewals. Tigres say that Pulido has renewed his deal, but Pulido claims that his old agent that no longer represents him was the one that signed off, and that his new agent never agreed to the contract.
If Tigres don’t allow Pulido to sign abroad, he’s likely to take the case to the Court of Arbitration for Sport, where he’s likely to win, based on the previous case of Neri Cardozo’s transfer from Boca Juniors to Jaguares de Chiapas. Even though Tigres and Liga MX are saying that Pulido has a valid contract and won’t be allowed to leave, it’s likely that they know better.
Pulido’s buyout clause has been reported as anywhere between $8-10 million. More likely than not, Olympiacos or another club that wishes to sign Pulido will probably end up playing a lot less than that, but more than nothing to wrap up the deal without going through any kind of legal process.
