While Southampton still have to find a long-term replacement for departed left back Luke Shaw, they won't experience much of a drop-off in quality at the position this season. They've announced the signing of Chelsea's Ryan Bertrand on loan, and he should slot right into Shaw's place without a problem.
Ryan Bertrand signs for Southampton on loan
Chelsea have loaned out Ryan Bertrand yet again, this time to Southampton.

Bertrand, now 24, has been on the edge of breaking into Chelsea’s first team for years but hasn’t quite managed it yet. He’s made a total of 56 appearances for the club, including 28 in the Premier League, but he was surplus to requirements at Stamford Bridge with the Blues bringing in Felipe Luis from Atlético Madrid.
Over the last five years, Bertrand has been a first team regular at high level, playing regularly in loan stints at Norwich, Reading, Nottingham Forest and Aston Villa. While he hasn't played much for Chelsea, he has nearly 200 professional games under his belt and has made two appearances for England. He should be a great pickup for Southampton and become their starting left back immediately.
