Chelsea and Everton have been haggling over the terms of a loan for Christian Atsu for the last couple of weeks, but they've finally got a deal done. The Blues announced Atsu's loan on Wednesday.
Christian Atsu signs for Everton on loan

Everton had suitable starters on the wings, but nothing spectacular. Kevin Mirallas is likely first choice for just about every game he's fit for, but the crew of Steven Pienaar, Steven Naismith and Aiden McGeady was likely to be a bit of a revolving door, with Pienaar occasionally moving inside and Naismith providing depth up top.
Atsu is effectively a replacement for Gerard Deulofeu, who was on loan from Barcelona last season. Barcelona have opted not to loan Deulofeu to the Toffees again, leaving a bit of a hole in the Everton squad that they’d rather not spend lots of money to fill, especially since they just shelled out a record fee for Romelu Lukaku. Atsu fits the bill nicely, and has considerably more high-level pro experience at this point in his career than Deulofeu had last year.
