Chelsea vs. Leicester City: Preview and TV schedule

The Blues welcome Premier League newcomers Leicester City at Stamford Bridge.

Leicester City passed their first test of the season with a comeback draw against Everton, but this week's match against Chelsea will provide the Foxes a much tougher challenge.

Key Player: Diego Costa (Chelsea)

Chelsea's new striker had a solid performance in their opening match against Burnley, scoring a goal and collecting a yellow card. The yellow card is important because it was not a good call by the referee, but it didn't derail Costa's performance. Given his fiery temper and physical style, he's likely going to struggle at times with Premier League whistle blowers. If Costa is able to adapt and avoid the disciplinary issues that many are expecting from him, he'll be an even more dangerous attacking player.

Key Matchup: Leicester City counter-attack vs. Chelsea defense

Everton's normally solid defense was broken down twice by Leicester City last weekend, giving the Foxes a belief that they can score goals against some of the better competition in the Premier League. Chelsea are a different level though, and will provide a much tougher test for the Foxes. If Leicester are able to find some space and hit the Blues with quick counters, they might have a chance to trouble Thibaut Courtois. The Blues defense will need to deal with long balls over the top better than Everton did as well.

Chelsea injuries and suspensions

Leicester injuries and suspensions

Out: Danny Drinkwater (hamstring), Matty James (shin), Matthew Upson (foot). In Doubt: Marc Albrighton (groin) and Jamie Vardy (thigh).

Chelsea are healthy this week with Didier Drogba, last week’s only fitness issue for the club, available to start should Jose Mourinho decide to go that direction. The Foxes will be missing the trip of Drinkwater, James and Upson for their trip to Stamford Bridge, but Nigel Pearson could welcome back Marc Albrighton and Jamie Vardy after both missed out in their week one draw.
