Everton have added their second new striker of the summer, signing Samuel Eto'o to strengthen up top. The Cameroonian international has inked a two-year contract.
Samuel Eto’o signs for Everton
Everton finally have some depth at striker after signing Eto’o.

Hilariously, Chelsea's signing of Samuel Eto'o was part of the reason Romelu Lukaku didn't feel he was going to get enough playing time at Stamford Bridge last season, when he moved on loan to Everton. Now they're both at the same club again, and Eto'o will be Lukaku's backup.
Before this signing, Everton were a bit short on numbers up top. Arouna Kone is the only other true striker in the Everton squad, and he's very much out of favor at the moment. If Lukaku was unavailable, regular starting winger Steven Naismith would have been his primary backup.
While Eto’o looked every bit of his 33 years old for Chelsea last season, he’s still a pretty useful player. His 12-goal output wasn’t good enough for Chelsea to justify keeping him, but he should make for an excellent backup for Everton.
