Arsenal manager Arsène Wenger has named Alexis Sánchez as Arsenal's starting centre-forward for their crucial Champions League qualifier against Turkish side Beşiktaş. The Frenchman had been forced into the change with the long-term injury layoff of his compatriot Olivier Giroud.
Arsenal vs. Beşiktaş: Lineups
Alexis Sánchez is playing as a centre-forward as Arsenal take on Beşiktaş in the Champions League qualifiers.
Until now, Sánchez had been preferred on the right side of Arsenal's attack, though the lack of a better alternative has seen him shifted central. Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain fills his previous role out on the wing. Santi Cazorla and Mesut Özil also start, with Laurent Koscielny and Per Mertesacker the preferred central defensive pairing. Calum Chambers has been left on the bench.
Beşiktaş make just one change from the team that held the Gunners in the first leg, with Atiba Hutchinson coming in for Necip Uysal.
Arsenal (4-2-3-1): Wojciech Szczęsny; Nacho Monreal, Laurent Koscielny, Per Mertesacker, Mathieu Debuchy; Mathieu Flamini, Jack Wilshere; Santi Cazorla, Mesut Özil, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain; Alexis Sánchez.
