Capitol One Cup 3rd round draw results: Arsenal host Southampton, Chelsea get Bolton

Paul Gilham

The 3rd round draw for the League Cup hasn’t managed to produce any marquee ties, though there’s potential for some very good matches. Most of the smaller clubs have been drawn against each other, with Premier League clubs either playing fellow top flight sides or big Championship sides.

Manchester City might have got the easiest draw of the big clubs, and will play Sheffield Wednesday at home. Chelsea will also expect to advance past Bolton, while Spurs should be able to beat Nottingham Forest at home. Arsenal have a tricky date with Southampton, while Everton have to go away to Swansea City.

All of the matches will be played during the week of September 22.
