Danny Welbeck is not having a medical at Arsenal

The best completely insane story of this deadline day is ... Danny Welbeck!

Jayne Kamin-Oncea-USA TODAY Sports

Remember when Danny Welbeck was having a medical at Arsenal ahead of a move away from Manchester United? He's not actually having a medical.

Often, clubs just don’t bother responding to things that Sky Sports reports, citing their own sources. But in this case, Arsenal took the opportunity to categorically deny this report, probably because United called them and asked what the heck was going on.

Welbeck probably will leave Manchester United in the next couple hours, but it's impossible to tell what club he'll head to. Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur are both interested, but seem to prefer a loan. United want a big loan fee, while Welbeck would like a permanent transfer away from United.

Everyone’s left this a bit late, but it’s hard to see Welbeck heading back to United after all this, especially with Radamel Falcao coming in.
