In a bit of a shocking revelation, Frank Lampard will make his first Manchester City start on Saturday against Arsenal, while Yaya Toure misses out. Toure was not listed on any injury report prior to the match, but played a competitive match for the Ivory Coast on Wednesday, and apparently isn't completely fit to start. Manchester City kick off their Champions League campaign this week, so Manuel Pellegrini could be giving him a rest with that in mind.
Confirmed lineups for Arsenal vs. Manchester City: Yaya Toure out, Frank Lampard in
Meanwhile, Arsenal have handed a debut to Danny Welbeck, and he's playing up top as preferred, not out on the wing like he does for England and has for Manchester United. This allows Alexis Sanchez to move to the right flank, which is a better position to him, and Mesut Özil to play in the center.
The second surprise for this game, after Toure's exclusion, is that Aaron Ramsey has been handed a start. He was expected to miss out due to an injury picked up on Wales duty.
