With the fans in an uproar and holding an in-game protest demanding the sacking of head coach Alan Pardew, Newcastle United may have calmed the storm just a bit with a come from behind 2-2 draw against Hull City. Nikica Jelavić scored a fantastic bicycle kick to pull the Tigers in front early in the second half and Mohamed Diame appeared to finish things off in the 68th minute, but it wasn't enough. Papiss Cisse's brace pulled the Magies back, allowing Pardew to salvage a point. It may not be enough to end the protest, but it's better than a loss.
EPL scores: Newcastle pull off a late draw against Hull City, Arsenal hammer Aston Villa
Papiss Cisse saved Newcastle from yet another loss with two late goals, Arsenal defeated Aston Villa thanks to three goals in five minutes.
Arsenal defeated Aston Villa thanks to rather ridiculous five minute stretch in the first half that saw the Gunners pick-up three goals. Mesut Özil and Danny Welbeck scored in the 32nd and 34th minutes respectively, followed by a own-goal from Aly Cissokho in the 36th minute. It's Welbeck's first goal for the Gunner's since joining them on the final day of the transfer window.
Niko Kranjcar saved a point for QPR with a lovely free kick goal in the 88th minute that earned his side a 2-2 draw against Stoke City. Mame Diouf and Steven Caulker traded goals in the first half, and Peter Crouch's goal six minutes into the second half looked to be enough for three points, at least until Kranjcar curled a free kick past Asmir Begovic.
Victor Wanyama snatched a win for Southampton against Swansea City with a goal in the 80th minute, while Burnley played Sunderland to a scoreless draw.
In the late game, Liverpool lost for the second straight week. They conceded twice against West Ham in the opening 10 minutes and the Hammers never looked back.
