Liverpool will be without centre-back Mamadou Sakho for between two and three weeks due to a thigh strain, manager Brendan Rodgers has revealed. The announcement comes after the 24-year-old Frenchman failed to make the trip to Switzerland for the Reds' second Champions League group game away at Basel on Tuesday.
Mamadou Sakho out for at least a fortnight with thigh strain
Liverpool will be without the French centre-back for between two and three weeks.

Rodgers said:
”It’s pretty much the same as we were at the weekend apart from that Mamadou Sakho is not here -- he has a slight strain, which may have him out for a few weeks.
“His injury came in a training session. It’s unfortunate -- he’s just felt a pain in his thigh. He went and had a scan on it which showed he’s got a slight tear in there, which will be probably two to three weeks.”
Sakho courted controversy when he was spotted leaving Anfield ahead of their derby game at home to Everton on the weekend, after he was omitted from the Reds' squad. However, he has since offered up an apology for his disappearance.
