There's no rest when it comes to AFCON 2015, but if Tuesday's games turn out to be anything like Monday's, no one is going to complain. Traditional powerhouses Ivory Coast and Cameroon will face off against minnows Guinea and Mali -- so there's a good chance we might see some surprises.
Africa Cup of Nations 2015: Schedule and how to watch on Day 4
On Tuesday, we find out if Ivory Coast and Cameroon really are the favorites in AFCON Group D.

The news from yesterday
After a series of 1-1 draws, AFCON finally brought the excitement and unpredictability we’d all been craving. Two games, two come-from-behind wins.
In Monday's first match, Senegal keeper Bouna Coundoul put his team in danger when he pulled down Christian Atsu. André Ayew put away the resulting penalty, and Ghana were up 1-0 by the 15th minute. That also gave the Black Stars the opportunity to close ranks, making it difficult for Senegal to get through. At halftime, though, the Lions shifted to a 4-3-3, giving them much-needed width. Sure enough, Mame Biram Diouf found the equalizer just before the hour mark, heading in an attempt that had rebounded off the post. Senegal kept pouring forward, and in the last seconds of the game, the Ghana defense finally fell apart. Moussa Sow took advantage, giving Senegal the 2-1 victory.
After all that excitement, Game 2 -- highly anticipated due to the first appearance of favorites Algeria -- came as a bit of a let-down. Well, the first half was dull, anyway. Algeria looked confused, and by the end of the scoreless first half, South Africa were dominating. By the 51st minute, they'd taken the lead, and by the 54th, they had a penalty.
But that’s when things started to go horribly wrong for the Bafana Bafana. From the spot, Tokelo Rantie hit the bar rather than the back of the net. Then Thulani Hlatshwayo looped his header into the back of his own net, putting Algeria level. From there, the Fennec Foxes gained control. Faouzi Ghoulam scored their second with a gorgeous strike, then Islam Slimani slipped the third under the South Africa keeper to put Algeria top of Group C.
What to look for today
Upsets, maybe? Ivory Coast is one of Africa's bigger successes in recent years, having made it to the last three World Cups. Yet despite their potential, they were never really able to cash in, not even wining the continental competition. And again, they've got weaknesses, most notably their defense. And that defense will be going up against an extremely quick Guinea side that loves to hit on the counter. Fortunately for les elephants, Guinea, too, have defensive issues -- and even without the retired Didier Drogba, this is a side with plenty of firepower, including Wilfried Bony, Gervinho and Yaya Toure.
The first round of the group stage concludes with Cameroon taking on Mali, two sides with opposing trajectories. You have to rid your mind of all remembrances of how last-placed Cameroon fared last summer in Brazil -- this is a revitalized side, shorn of Samuel Eto'o and ready to give Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting and Vincent Aboubakar a time to shine. Mali, meanwhile, grabbed the bronze medal at both the 2012 and 2013 tournaments, but they already seem to be fading away. They'll likely be digging their heels in, desperate to at least find a point.
