— AC Milan (@acmilan) January 5, 2015 He moved to Atléti this summer for a reported €16m after two excellent seasons with Torino, but failed to make an impact at the Vicente Calderón. Higher profile signings Antoine Griezmann and Mario Mandžukić, as well as highly touted youngster Saúl and lower-profile signing Raúl Jiménez, were given more opportunities to play. Doing this kind of thing in training probably didn't help his cause:
While Cerci can play up top, Torres' departure leaves Milan with just one recognized center forward, Giampaolo Pazzini. He's had a rough season between fitness issues and bad form, so Milan will probably try to find a striker to add to the squad in January. Stephan El Shaarawy, Keisuke Honda, Jérémy Ménez and Mbaye Niang could all play up top, but have been better on the wing or in midfield during their careers. The answer could well be AS Roma's Mattia Destro, who has been strongly linked with Milan over the last few days.
