Lucas Lima drills rebound to equalize for Brazil against Argentina

This is smart play from Lucas Lima to make sure Brazil got the goal they needed.

Brazil were pushing desperately to find an equalizer against Argentina in their World Cup qualifying match, and thanks to unheralded attacking midfielder Lucas Lima's effort, they got exactly that.

That’s heads-up play from Lucas to position himself to pick up the header off the crossbar -- which came courtesy of Douglas Costa, who’d been on the pitch for all of 30 seconds -- and an excellent finish as well. The ball came at him off the bounce a bit higher than many players are comfortable with, but where a number of players might have tried to knock the ball down to get a better shot off, Lucas just leaned over and let it rip. Those kinds of instincts, both in positioning and finish, help show you just how good a player Lucas is, even if he doesn’t have the same reputation as some of his bigger-name teammates.
