This season has been the surprise of all surprises for Leicester City, standing atop the Premier League after 13 matches. Their advantage is just one point, though -- but that lead is over Manchester United, who the Foxes play today. A win in this match would let them not just sit in first place, but start opening up a lead on top of the table. Who knew Leicester would be in this position right now two years ago when they were in the Championship?
Manchester United vs. Leicester City 2015 live stream: Time, TV schedule and how to watch online
It’s a first versus second battle in the Premier League as the Foxes face a stern test for their top spot in the table.

Of course, Manchester United won’t just sit there and let Leicester walk their way to that vital win. They’ve been bouncing around in the title race for most of the season, but have spent just one week in first place. They’d love to regain that coveted position, and doing so by knocking off the team holding it would be all the sweeter. Louis Van Gaal doesn’t just want to make Manchester United better, he wants to win titles. Winning titles means being in first place, so Manchester United need to win this match.
Key player -- Jamie Vardy (Leicester City)
Vardy is the in form striker in Europe right now. He’s riding a 10-match scoring streak, and has scored 13 goals overall in the league this season. He’s not having any kind of fluky hot run, either -- he’s been legitimately impressive, using his excellent movement and instincts to victimize defense after defense this season. With Manchester’s defense still a little beat up and looking shaky in their last few matches -- despite giving up just one goal recently -- Vardy might just run that streak out to 11 games.
Key matchup -- Danny Drinkwater & N’Golo Kante (Leicester City) vs. Wayne Rooney & Juan Mata (Manchester United)
This battle should prove interesting. Drinkwater and Kante have proved to be a capable midfield partnership, coordinating well and doing a very good job of shielding Leicester’s back line. Rooney and Mata will frequently go up against them because of the spaces they tend to operate in. That’s a talented pair for Drinkwater and Kante to try to contain, and if they can’t do the job it’s going to be a difficult match for Leicester to prevail in.
