It’s been an odd season in the Premier League for Manchester United. They’ve won numerous matches, spent time in first place and are fully in the hunt for the title right now. Yet, they just had a 404 minute goalless streak snapped and have frequently been somewhat unimpressive this season. Now they have a chance to get their momentum rolling in the right direction against a West Bromwich Albion side that have lost three of their last five matches, but they can’t assume this will be an easy match.
Manchester United vs. West Brom 2015 live stream: Time, TV schedule and how to watch EPL online
Manchester United have finally scored again. Can they start rebuilding their momentum and pull closer to first place in the Premier League?

If anything, the contrasting styles of these two teams could wind up playing into West Brom’s hands. Louis Van Gaal has had Manchester playing defense-via-possession of late, holding onto the ball as long as possible in order to keep their opponent’s chances to a minimum. Of course, West Brom under Tony Pulis are happy to cede possession and deny space in order to make that possession as useless as possible, and are highly effective on the counter, something Manchester have frequently struggled against this season.
The obvious pick for this match is Manchester United winning with the Old Trafford crowd at their back, but with how tough this EPL season has been, and how oddly these two teams match up, there’s really no predicting the outcome of this game.
Key player -- Saido Berahino (West Bromwich Albion)
It’s been a feast-or-famine kind of season for Berahino, and unfortunately “famine” has been the more frequent result. When he’s on his game, though, he’s extremely tough to beat, with a wide variety of techniques and tricks to call on. If he gets up on his horse and plays as well as he’s capable of, he’ll be a matchup nightmare for Manchester, but if he’s not, he’s a virtual black hole on the pitch for West Brom. We all know which option Baggies fans will prefer.
Key matchup -- Wayne Rooney (Manchester United) vs. Jonny Evans (West Bromwich Albion)
Rooney has struggled for most of this season, but finally broke his and Manchester’s goalless streak with the crucial winning strike in this past week’s Champions League match against CSKA Moscow. Today, though, he’s facing off with a man who knows him very well in Evans, a former teammate who used to train against him every day. That knowledge of each other will play very heavily into this matchup, and how they use that against one another will be very interesting to see.
