FC Dallas vs. Sounders 2015 live stream: Time, TV schedule and how to watch MLS playoffs online

Clint Dempsey and the Sounders carry a one-goal lead into Texas.

Jennifer Nicholson-USA TODAY Sports

The conference semifinal matchup between FC Dallas and the Seattle Sounders looked like one of the most exciting, closest ones possible when the bracket was made. The two sides lived up to the hype in the first leg, with Seattle pulling out a comeback 2-1 win. They take a lead to Texas, but Dallas will like their chances to advance with an away goal in hand.

Two of Dallas' attacking superstars combined for an early opening goal, with Mauro Diaz finding Fabian Castillo in the first half. But Andreas Ivanschitz scored a stunner to bring Seattle back, then Clint Dempsey gave his team the lead in the tie with a late goal of his own.

Once again, Seattle will be stressing about the fitness of Osvaldo Alonso. Their star central midfielder was close to returning last week, but ultimately did not pass fit. This week, he has a better chance of making an appearance, and Seattle will feel better about this tie if he makes the 18-man squad.

Key player — Clint Dempsey

On Seattle’s counter attacks, Dempsey is the key link between midfield and Obafemi Martins. He’s a great goal-scorer, but an even more important part of his game is finding space between the lines and making the plays that keep dangerous attacks moving. The Sounders will need him at his best in that role.

Key matchup — Seattle’s DM vs. Mauro Diaz

Whether Andy Rose or a not-quite-100-percent Alonso plays deep for Seattle, that player will need to deny space and time on the ball to Mauro Diaz, FCD’s No. 10. He set up his team’s crucial away goal in the first leg, and he’ll need to unlock the Seattle defense as they attempt to keep their lead.
