MLS Cup Final 2015 live stream: How to watch Crew vs. Timbers online

The Portland Timbers and Columbus Crew face off for an MLS title on Sunday.

Trevor Ruszkowski-USA TODAY Sports

The MLS season comes to a close on Sunday with the Columbus Crew hosting the Portland Timbers in the MLS Cup Final. Columbus have won the title once before in their history, while the Timbers have not won any trophies since making the step up from the second division to MLS.

In their one meeting during the regular season, Portland came away victorious. The Timbers should be encouraged considering their win came in Columbus and happened while the Crew had all of their top players in the starting lineup.

However, the Crew improved significantly after that, moving up the Eastern Conference table to earn a first-round bye. They beat the Montreal Impact in their first series, then New York Red Bulls in the conference finals. Portland had to go through the play-in round, where they won a dramatic penalty shootout against Sporting Kansas City, before winning series against Vancouver Whitecaps and FC Dallas.

The Portland Timbers are sweating over the fitness of starting central defender Liam Ridgewell, who picked up an ankle injury in training. There's also a slight chance that Ben Zemanski, who has missed most of the year with a knee injury, could make the bench for this game. Columbus Crew SC got a scare this week when Kei Kamara turned his ankle in training, but he's expected to be fit to start. Long-term absentees Kristinn Steindorsson and Romain Gall also have an outside chance to make the bench.
