Yeah, we know. It feels like we were just here, about to sit down in front of the TV to take in some hot Premier League action. Alas, unlike last weekend, which gave us the great hope of the Merseyside Derby, this batch of midweek games doesn’t look all that promising.
Premier League schedule, week 24: Chelsea, City, United all win
Here’s the three games we think might provide the most potential for amusement.

Then again, anyone who spent 90 minutes wiping drool from the corners of their mouths while watching Everton vs. Liverpool is probably thrilled with the prospect of watching Sunderland vs. QPR. Hell, even Aston Villa’s visit to Hull might look appealing after the play at Goodison on Saturday.
Still, two of the three games we’re recommending will features those teams from Liverpool. Sorry about that. Cross your fingers and hope for the best.
Liverpool vs. Tottenham
watch: NBCSN and NBC Live Extra (USA); Sportsnet Regional (Canada); BT Sport 1 (UK)
Yeah, yeah, Liverpool made you snooze, we get it. But Spurs were kind to us, very kind. Well, not to Arsenal. Harry Kane killed their hopes of taking a point from the North London derby with his late goal, his second of the match. Now Arsenal are 6th and Tottenham are salivating over the prospect of 4th, one measly point away. Liverpool, too, haven’t given up on their Champions League dreams, no matter how badly the tournament treated them this year. The Reds are unbeaten in eight and are now a mere five points back of fourth. So what we’re saying is, even if the Premier League refuses to give us a title race, at least it’s making the battle for fourth dramatic.
Chelsea vs. Everton
watch: NBCSN and NBC Live Extra (USA); TSN4 (Canada); BT Sport 1 (UK)
Speaking of the title race...yeah, it’s probably done. Let’s just hand the trophy to Chelsea right now, in hopes that it spares us further histrionics from José Mourinho. After all, it’s unlikely that the Toffees are going to sticky up the works. One win in eight, huh? Still, if Everton wanted to pick a great time to remind people that they’ve still got a few talents knocking around, showing up Chelsea would be optimal. Or they could just give us all what we deserve -- another 6-3 thriller.
Crystal Palace vs. Newcastle
watch: NBC Live Extra (USA); Sportsnet World (Canada)
Truly, we have no idea why NBC isn’t putting this one their flagship station. A bunch of traveling Geordies get to travel to London for the sole purpose of making Alan Pardew’s life a misery -- despite the fact that he’s not even hanging around the bench annoying them anymore. Then again, since Pardew switched teams, Newcastle’s won just one game, so the fans may be feeling a particularly annoying sense of déjà vu. Meanwhile, Palace have won four of their five games under their new manager, rocketing up to 13th.
