Football is many things, but it is never boring.
Colombian football team catches a ride to the stadium -- with the cops
Deportivo Cali had to get a lift from local police after their bus driver was stopped for driving drunk.

Colombian football team Deportivo Cali was on its way to a match against Deportes Tolima on Sunday, happy and carefree as could be, when it got stopped by police and the driver given a sobriety test. He failed. Suddenly driverless, Deportivo’s team and staff were forced to thumb a ride from the very cops who pulled them over.
You hear about police escorts for visiting teams as they approach a hostile stadium all the time, but the cops actually driving them in on a police bus is certainly a new one. For their part, Deportivo Cali officials claim that the driver was not a club employee and that Tolima was responsible for arranging their transportation for the 330-kilometer trip to the match.
The whole affair obviously had a poor effect on the Cali players, who lost 4-1 to fall to to seventh in the Primera A table. One could almost make a “hangover” joke out of their performance. Almost.
