Real Madrid vs. Schalke 04 live stream: How to watch Champions League online

The Champions League Round of 16 continues Wednesday as the defending champions Real Madrid travel to Germany for a first leg match with Schalke 04.

These two sides met in the same round of last season’s tournament, a matchup that turned into a 9-2 aggregate beatdown by Los Blancos. Roberto di Matteo hopes to see a better performance from Schalke this time around, and given Madrid’s midfield problems, they just might be able to do that.

With Luka Modrić, Sami Khedira and James Rodriguez all sidelined, Carlo Ancelotti's options in the middle of the pitch are limited. Toni Kroos will start in his usual holding midfield spot (which is not his preferred place, though that hasn't stopped Ancelotti from sticking him there all season), and it'll likely fall on him, along with Isco and Asier Illarramendi, to play better than they did over the weekend.

In the United States, you have a couple online viewing options for the match. If your TV provider has FOX Sports 1, you can catch the game for free on FOX Sports Go, assuming they give you access to the service. There's also FOX Soccer 2 Go, a paid service that requires no TV subscription. Watch ESPN will offer the Spanish feed to those with ESPN Deportes.

Sky Go will have the match in the UK, while Sportsnet World Now has it in Canada. If you’re watching in Germany, you can find the match on Sky Go Deutschland. For listings from more countries, check out Live Soccer TV.
