Jay Beatty is well beyond being Celtic’s No. 1 fan. He’s basically part of the team now. After all, he got to celebrate on the pitch with the players after they won the league last season, and has sung with Georgios Samaras on the team bus.
11-year-old Celtic fan with Down syndrome won Scotland’s goal of the month
So cool. So aww!

But Beatty, who has Down syndrome, is now a legend beyond just the Glasgow club. He is a part of Scotland football lore after winning the country’s Goal of the Month honors for his penalty kick at halftime of a match last month.
Beatty got a stunning 97 percent of the vote, beating out every professional goal scored in the month. Yes, that includes every Celtic goal, too.
Let’s see how he reacted to the news:
That is so cool.
And of course his buddy Samaras got in on the fun by filming a video for him, despite him not even playing for Celtic anymore.
“I’m very happy to announce that you won the goal of the month,” Samaras said in the video. “Well done pal, great job. I miss you and I love you.”
SO. MUCH. AWW!
Congratulations, Jay.
