The Democratic Republic of the Congo haven't lost a match yet in the Africa Cup of Nations, but they're coming up against one of the tournament's elite for the first time in the semifinals. The Ivory Coast are also undefeated, and in much more impressive fashion. Les Elephants have played stiffer competition than the Leopards, finished with two more points in the group stage and won their group.

Ivory Coast looked the part of Africa Cup of Nations favorites against Algeria, and they’ll expect to advance past the Democratic Republic of the Congo.

DRC had to pull off an impressive comeback in the quarterfinals just to get this far. They surprisingly fell behind neighbors Congo by two goals, but fought back in the final 30 minutes of the match, scoring four times. Things were a bit more straightforward for Ivory Coast against a very good Algeria team, who ran out of gas late. The Fennecs erased a one-goal Ivory Coast lead early in the second half, but the Ivorians took over late, eventually posting a 3-1 victory.
Both teams are dealing with big injury problems heading into this game, especially in midfield. Youssouf Mulumbu is out for DR-Congo, while Cheik Tiote, who has missed the last two games, is going to be a game-time decision. DRC are also missing central defender Gabriel Zakuani, who sprained his ankle in the last match.
