Zlatan Ibrahimović sent off against Chelsea

PSG’s task just got a lot harder.

Mike Tedesco-USA TODAY Sports

Paris Saint-Germain's task of eliminating Chelsea from the Champions League has gotten a lot harder, with the French club having been sent down to 10 men. Yep, none other than their star striker Zlatan Ibrahimović has been sent off in the first half of their match at Stamford Bridge, after a tackle deemed to be serious foul play on Blues playmaker Oscar.

It was a tackle that looked worse in real time than on replays, which seem to suggest the referee slightly overreacted. The Chelsea players were vehemently protesting seconds after the challenge went in, and they may well have had some influence on the decision to send Ibra off. PSG seemed to think so, and Thiago Motta was booked for protesting the decision.

As it is, the game is still 0-0 on the night and 1-1 on aggregate. The advantage is with Chelsea who netted an away goal at the Parc des Princes a few weeks ago.
