With both teams sitting on nine points, this is crucial match in the qualifying cycle.

With six match rounds still left in qualifying, the game won’t decide either team’s fate, but three points for either side would go a long way towards getting them into the next round. It would also give them a chance to potentially get closer to first place Slovakia, who leads the group with 12 points.
With Diego Costa unavailable due to a hamstring injury, Vicente del Bosque is expected to hand Alvaro Morata a start up top in the attack. David Silva and Pedro are the likely choices to start alongside him in the attack. Manchester United's David de Gea could get the start in goal for Spain as well.
Ukraine will be without Dynamo Kiev midfielder Sergiy Sydorchuk, who withdrew with an injury. Sydorchuk played in the team’s last three qualifiers, so it’s a meaningful absence.
