Netherlands vs. Spain 2015: Time, TV schedule and live streaming

The Netherlands will be looking for an improvement on their recent form.

Two veritable European footballing giants clash in a friendly in Amsterdam on Tuesday, though one of them is in significantly ruder health than the other. Spain may have been stunned by Slovakia early in their Euro 2016 qualifying campaign, though Vicente Del Bosque has since managed to get things back on track, and they’ve won all of their other competitive games since.

Their hosts in this match, on the other hand, are struggling. The Netherlands have won just twice since the departure of coach Louis van Gaal for Manchester United after last year’s World Cup, and Euro 2016 qualification is far from assured for Guus Hiddink’s side. They drew 1-1 at home to Turkey in their latest competitive game on Saturday, and their poor performances suggested it’s unlikely they’ll be able to upset Spain in this friendly.

Key player - Memphis Depay (Netherlands)

The Netherlands are currently without their star man Arjen Robben, meaning the heir to his throne as the Oranje’s wing king, Memphis Depay, has been thrown into the first team a little earlier than Hiddink may have anticipated. Nevertheless, the PSV attacker is one of the most talented young players on the planet at present, and he’ll have to live up to the billing if the Dutch are to cause problems for the Spanish defence.

Key question - Will Álvaro Morata keep his place up top for Spain?

Real Madrid sold Álvaro Morata to Juventus a couple of seasons ago, presumably having decided that the young striker would never be able to cut it at the very top. However, Morata’s recent form is suggesting that they may have made a grave misjudgement; Morata has scored eight goals in his last 15 appearances in all competitions, including a crucial winner against Ukraine on the weekend. If he keeps his place up top, he could well add to his tally.
