The climb has begun for Borussia Dortmund. Since they were in last place after February 4th’s loss to Augsburg, Jürgen Klopp’s side has won four consecutive league matches and moved up eight spots, to tenth. European football is not out of the question, but they need to keep winning.
Hamburg vs. Borussia Dortmund live stream: Time, TV schedule and how to watch online
In search of a fifth straight Bundesliga win, Borussia Dortmund travel to the Imtech Arena to take on Hamburger SV.

Meanwhile, Hamburger SV are struggling to stay afloat. They’ve found the back of the net just 16 times in the league this year, and hover just one point above the relegation places. Ivica Olić hasn’t provided the goals they were hoping he would since joining in January, and Rafael van der Vaart seems to be aging a year per match. Luckily for Die Dinosaurier, this match is at home, where they have taken 62.5 percent of their points this season.
Winning this is crucial for Dortmund. With the second leg of the Champions League tie against Juventus more than a week away, they can afford to play a full strength squad in this game. That may be important, as they have shown a tendency to collapse at times this year. However, they may have turned the corner on the bad form we saw in the first half of the campaign. One reason for that is Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang. The Gabonese speed demon has been on fire since he has been deployed at striker instead of right wing, coincidentally after the Augsburg defeat. He has five goals and two assists in the last four league games.
Hamburg will be hoping that the Dortmund defence commits a few more errors. Niko Müller assisted his fourth goal of the season last week against Eintracht Frankfurt, and it really came out of nothing. With just 25 seconds left in stoppage time at the end of the first half, Jaroslav Drobny hit a goal kick down the left wing. Striker Artjoms Rudnevs pulled it down and found Mohamed Gouaida, who beat two defenders before laying it off to Müller. Müller then found Zoltan Steiber in the middle of the area, who scored. A move of four passes resulted in a goal, and Die Roten Hosenwill be looking for more of the same. When the teams met in October, it was Hamburg that won 1-0. Is it possible that they could do it again?
Hamburger SV injuries and suspensions
Out: Lewis Holtby (collarbone), Marcelo Diaz (knee), Rene Adler (flu) Pierre-Michele Lasogga (thigh), Slobodan Rajković (knee), Matthias Ostrzolek (suspended)
Borussia Dortmund injuries and suspensions
Out: Lukas Piszczek (ankle), Kevin Großkreutz (leg). In Doubt: Nuri Sahin (abductor) Marco Reus (leg).
At first glance, it looks like a lock for Dortmund. However, they may be without their talisman Marco Reus. The winger left the DFB-Pokal match against Dynamo Dresden on Tuesday after picking up a dead-leg, and the bruise has spread to a larger area on his thigh. He’s been crucial to their success in the Rückrunde since coming back from an ankle injury.
The injuries have started to pile up for Hamburg. The long-term layoff of Holtby hurts for a team that’s struggled so mightily to score, but the defensive injuries and bans may be worse. With Slobodan Rajković and Matthias Ostrzolek out, half of the backline will change from their last league match.
