The highlight of Serie A’s round 26 action sees a couple of the peninsula’s European hopefuls face off at the San Paolo, as Napoli host Inter Milan. The Neapolitans head into the game in third place -- just four points adrift of AS Roma -- and their league position is enough to make sure they head into this clash as favorites. Inter are currently all the way down in ninth place, and European qualification is looking an ever distant dream.

However, both of these sides have been pretty inconsistent throughout the season so far, and head into this clash on the back of league defeats. Napoli went down 1-0 to Torino last time out, while Inter lost at home to a resurgent Fiorentina by the same scoreline. In short, no one knows quite how this game is going to pan out, and that in itself makes it worth watching.

Key player - Mauro Icardi (Inter Milan)

For all of their struggles over the past few seasons, Inter currently have a couple of genuinely top talents in their ranks at present. One of them is striker Mauro Icardi, who has caught the gaze of a couple of Premier League clubs after a couple of fine seasons since making the move from Sampdoria. The former Barcelona man could well prove to be the difference in this encounter.

Key matchup - José Callejón vs. Davide Santon

Under Rafael Benítez, Napoli have been pretty reliant on their wingers to create goalscoring chances. Fortunately, their wingers are pretty damn good, with José Callejón in particular having impressed since arriving from Real Madrid. In this match he’ll be up against former Newcastle man Davide Santon, who will have his hands full trying to stop him.

Napoli injuries and suspensions

Out: Camilo Zúñiga, Lorenzo Insigne (match fitness). In doubt: Michu, Miguel Britos.

Inter Milan injuries and suspensions

Out: Yuto Nagatomo, Jonathan (injured). In doubt: None.

Napoli will still be without Camilo Zúñiga and Lorenzo Insigne, who have both returned to training after injury layoffs, but who will need a little longer to get up to match fitness. They’ll likely be joined on the sidelines by Michu and Miguel Britos. Inter’s only injury concerns aren’t particularly concerning at all -- full-backs Yuto Nagatomo and Jonathan are their only definite absentees.
