Monaco had to go through the first leg of this Champions League quarterfinal tie without their captain and leader, Jeremy Toulalan. The veteran is the heart of Monaco’s midfield, and while they played well without him in the first leg, fans and teammates alike will feel better for having him back in the squad.
Jeremy Toulalan returns to help Monaco fight past Juventus
Monaco have their captain in the lineup again as they try to find a way to overturn Juventus’ one-goal aggregate lead.

For Juventus, their lineup is pretty straightforward and easy to predict. With Juventus needing to protect their lead while pushing for an away goal, manager Max Allegri has eschewed his diamond midfield and four-man back line to go with a 3-5-2 that’s been a bit more traditional for Juve in recent years. As hoped, Arturo Vidal is sufficiently recovered from a battle with tonsillitis earlier in the week and is fit to start, leaving Monaco fans cursing their luck at not getting to miss out on his talent.
AS Monaco: Danijel Subasic; Fabinho, Andrea Raggi, Aymen Abdennour, Layvin Kurzawa; Joao Moutinho, Jeremy Toulalan, Geoffrey Kondogbia; Bernardo Silva, Anthony Martial, Yannick Ferreira-Carrasco
Juventus starting lineup (3-5-2): Gianluigi Buffon; Andrea Barzagli, Leonardo Bonucci, Giorgio Chiellini; Stephan Lichtsteiner, Arturo Vidal, Andrea Pirlo, Claudio Marchisio, Patrice Evra; Carlos Tevez, Alvaro Morata
