It was a disappointing final season for Jürgen Klopp at the helm of Borussia Dortmund, but his side have finished strong. They played their way back into the Europa League after being threatened by relegation, and defeated Bayern Munich en route to the DFB-Pokal final. On Saturday, they take on Wolfsburg and attempt to send Klopp off with a trophy.

Can BVB send off Jürgen Klopp with a trophy?

And as nice of a storybook ending as that would be, Wolfsburg should be considered the favorites in this match. They’ve had an excellent season, finishing second, and their playmaker Kevin de Bruyne was probably the division’s top player not playing at Bayern. He tallied an incredible 20 assists, eight better than second-best in the league, and racked up 10 goals as well. Bas Dost was joint-fifth leading scorer in Germany, while their defense was a solid fourth in the league.
Both sides have been in slightly up-and-down form lately, with Wolfsburg having secured Champions League qualification long ago and Dortmund having learned they’d fail to achieve that a long time ago as well. But Dortmund are coming off a win, while Wolfsburg haven’t lost in their last four.
Key player: Marco Reus (Borussia Dortmund)
It was an average season for Reus, who was hampered by injuries and ended up tallying just seven goals and five assists in the Bundesliga. But he’s still Dortmund’s best and most important attacking player, and he’s stepped up in big games throughout his Dortmund career.
Key matchup: Wolfsburg’s attacking set pieces
Dortmund’s set piece defense isn’t spectacular, while Die Wölfe have players who can provide great service and lots of tall players. Don’t be shocked if Wolfsburg score one from a set play.
