The Copa América gets underway on Thursday, with hosts Chile taking on Ecuador. Jorge Sampaoli’s side will be expecting to get started with a victory, as they’re tipped to make a run deep into the latter stages of this competition. Ecuador, meanwhile, will do well just to make it out of a group that also contains Mexico and Bolivia.
Chile vs. Ecuador, Copa America 2015: Time, TV schedule and live stream
The Copa América kicks off on Thursday, with Chile welcoming Ecuador to Santiago.

Making things even more difficult for Ecuador is the fact that they head into this tournament without one of their best players: Manchester United winger Antonio Valencia has undergone ankle surgery, and wasn’t fit enough to make Gustavo Quinteros’ squad. It’d be a big surprise if they were able to record their first win away in Chile since the 1997 edition of this tournament.
Chile, in contrast, are at pretty much full strength. That means their two biggest stars -- winger Alexis Sánchez and midfielder Arturo Vidal -- will both be involved.
