Switzerland vs. Ecuador, 2015 Women’s World Cup: Time, TV schedule and live stream

Switzerland hopes to bounce back from defeat to Japan by beating minnows Ecuador on Friday.

Anne-Marie Sorvin-USA TODAY Sports

Switzerland headed into the Women's World Cup as something of a dark horse, having gone undefeated in a tough qualifying group. Their rise was indicated yet further by a 3-1 win away at bona fide World Cup contenders Sweden in a friendly in April. However, they suffered a 1-0 defeat to reigning champions Japan in their opening game, and now need to get back on-track with a win over Ecuador in Vancouver on Friday.

The good news is that they should have no problems seeing off the South American side, who suffered a 6-0 defeat at the hands of fellow tournament debutantes Cameroon in their opening fixture. They’re unlike most teams in the tournament in that all of their players feature in their domestic divisions, and it’s tough to see them resisting a Swiss side that will be surely fired up after their opening defeat. The margin of defeat could be big again.
