The Women’s World Cup has been a wild, exciting ride so far, giving us a number of matches to be thrilled about and only a few that haven’t left fans and neutrals alike happy with what they saw. Canada are on top of Group A thanks to a win and a draw, but need a win in their last match to ensure that they finish on top of the group. Netherlands, meanwhile, want to secure at worst an advancement place to the knockout rounds by finishing as one of the four best third-place sides.
Netherlands vs. Canada 2015 live stream: How to watch the Women’s World Cup online
Canada and the Netherlands are set for a battle to advance to the knockout rounds out of one of the toughest groups in this Women’s World Cup.

Canada won their opener in a tight battle with China, but struggled to a scoreless draw in their second match of the World Cup. If they can’t secure a win against the Netherlands on Monday, they could easily get passed by China for their spot in first place, and the easier path through the quarterfinals it represents -- especially since they could avoid a potential match with the United States until the semifinals at the earliest if they top their group.
The Netherlands have impressed in their first two World Cup matches ever, and are one of the sides that have proved the idea of expanding the tournament to be a good one. They won an impressive match against New Zealand before losing to China in their second game, but they gave a very underrated Chinese side all they could handle in that narrow loss. If they can repeat that performance, they might just have it in them to shock Canada and rise out of third place into one of the guaranteed advancement spots. That would be a huge feather in their caps, and it’d be hard to argue with it given how well they’ve played.
