Both Germany and France have impressed at the Women’s World Cup so far, but one of them will go no further than the quarterfinals. That’s because they face off in Montreal on Friday, in what may well be the most mouthwatering of matches yet.
Germany vs. France, 2015 World Cup: Time, TV schedule and live stream
The WWC quarterfinals kick off on Friday with Germany taking on France.

Germany are the No. 1 ranked team on the planet, so they just about head in as favorites. They had a relatively easy passage into the knockout stages -- thrashing the Ivory Coast and Thailand on either side of a draw against Norway -- before cruising to a 4-1 win over Sweden in the Round of 16. Their attacking pair of Anja Mittag and Célia Šašić have combined to score 10 goals in their four games so far, and could cause France big problems.
However, don’t write Les Bleues off just yet. They may have been stunned by Colombia in the group stages, but Philippe Bergeroo’s side has otherwise been perfect in Canada. Spearheaded by Eugénie Le Sommer, who has three goals so far, they have been good enough that an upset in this match wouldn’t be quite so upsetting (unless you happen to be German).
