Following a disappointing Copa America, Mexico will be expected to win the Gold Cup. Miguel Herrera picked all of his best players for the North American championship, sending only one of them to Chile, and they’ll start their preparations against CONCACAF rivals Costa Rica on Saturday.
Mexico vs. Costa Rica live stream: Time, TV schedule and how to watch online
Two of CONCACAF’s best teams face each other to get ready for the Gold Cup.

Los Ticos were North America's most successful team at the last World Cup, and will consider themselves contenders for the Gold Cup as well. Mexico and the United States might be the top two sides in CONCACAF, but Costa Rica's current generation of stars have established themselves as worthy challengers. They'll like their chances to pull off a semifinal upset, and they'll learn a lot about where they are relative to their competition in this match.
While this is Mexico's A-team, they aren't terribly experienced. Six of their eight midfielders have fewer than 20 caps, with Herrera looking to completely remake his squad in that position. 'Tecatito' Jesús Manuel Corona, the only El Tri player to shine at the Copa America, is also in this squad. Costa Rica have a strong team, but injuries have claimed some of their top players. Óscar Duarte, Bryan Oviedo and Keylor Navas will all miss out.
