Club América vs. Benfica live stream: Time, TV schedule and how to watch International Champions Cup online

Heading into their final ICC game, Benfica are still looking for their first preseason win.

The International Champions Cup matches are now coming thick and fast, with Benfica set to play their third game in the space of a week against Club América on Wednesday. The Portuguese champions have so far had a pretty underwhelming pre-season, following up a promising 3-2 defeat to Paris Saint-Germain with defeats to both Fiorentina and the New York Red Bulls.

They’ll look to finally pick up a confidence-boosting victory against Club América on Tuesday, in what is the Portuguese side’s final match of the ICC campaign. They should be confident of victory, with América having only beaten the San Jose Earthquakes in their run of games in this friendly tournament; they’ve lost to both Manchester United and the LA Galaxy.

Fun Benfica fringe player to watch: Adel Taarabt

Given that he only joined from Queens Park Rangers in the summer, it’s a little premature to describe Adel Taarabt as a fringe player. But it certainly looks like he’s going to have to work hard for a first team place, having started from the bench in their first couple of friendly games. Sometimes a playmaking genius and sometimes an unmitigated disaster, there’s rarely a dull moment when Taarabt’s on the pitch.

Fun Club América fringe player to watch: Alejandro Díaz

Striker Alejandro Díaz has so far struggled to force his way into the Club América first team, though he has consistently shone for Mexico’s youth teams. The 19-year-old came off the bench early in their ICC opener as they saw off the San José Earthquakes 2-1, and started in their 4-2 Liga MX defeat to Puebla on Sunday. He could be about to have a breakthrough season.

Compared to other friendlies, is this worth my time?

Unless you support either of these clubs, this one’s probably worth skipping. 2/10.
