Ligue 1 appears to be a one-horse race this season, with Paris Saint-Germain cruising to yet another league title. There are a slew of psuedo-challengers, with one of them being AS Monaco. On Sunday, we should see whether or not they have the ability to mount any kind of challenge.
PSG vs. Monaco 2015 live stream: Time, TV schedule and how to watch Ligue 1 online
France’s two richest sides battle on Sunday.

While it’s certainly not good for their bottom line or attracting top talent in the long run, Monaco’s Ligue 1 hopes might have gone up by them failing to qualify for the Champions League in midweek. They’ve dropped into the Europa League, but they’ll likely play rotated squads in that competition and put out their best squad in domestic matches. They’re struggling with some injuries right now, though, and Joao Moutinho is the most important player who will miss out on this match. Nabil Dirar is also a slight doubt.
PSG could give Angel Di Maria his first start in this game. Between injuries to other midfielders and speculation that Ezequiel Lavezzi and Zlatan Ibrahimovic are available for transfer, there should be a place in the squad for the Argentine international.
Key player -- Blaise Matuidi
He’s the man who makes everything go for PSG in all phases of play, particularly in transition. He’s the man who gets counter attacks started and he’s key for PSG at stopping the ball when their opponents try to break quickly the other way.
Key matchup -- Stephan El Shaarawy vs. Serge Aurier
AC Milan’s oft-injured winger looks to be rehabilitating himself well at Monaco, and he’ll be a key creative force for them in this game. The man tasked with containing him is Aurier, who has been occasionally spectacular since joining PSG, but very inconsistent.
AS Monaco injuries and suspensions
Out: Joao Moutinho (ankle), Helder Costa (foot). In doubt: Nabil Dirar (ankle), Layvin Kurzawa (ankle).
Paris Saint-Germain injuries and suspensions
Out: Javier Pastore (calf). In doubt: Zlatan Ibrahimovic (knee), Marco Verratti (knock), Gregory van der Wiel (knock).
