Bayern Munich will look to maintain their perfect start to the new Bundesliga season away at the newly promoted Darmstadt on Saturday. Pep Guardiola's side have taken all possible points from their first four league games, and maintained their momentum in the Champions League in midweek with a fairly routine 3-0 win away at Greek champions Olympiacos. It will be the first time these sides have met since Darmstadt were last in the Bundesliga way back in 1982.

Bayern Munich will hope to avoid a giant killing away at newly promoted Darmstadt on Saturday.

It may have been a long absence, but the club have so far acquitted themselves admirably in the top flight. Despite being handed a tough opening run of games, they're yet to be beaten, and picked up their first win away at Bayer Leverkusen last week. With home advantage on their side, they'll be looking to pull off a big upset against Guardiola's men in this one.
Key player: Thomas Müller (Bayern Munich)
Thomas Müller has made a quite remarkable start to the new season, with his brace in Bayern’s 2-0 Champions League win away at Olympiacos in midweek raising his goal tally to eight in all competitions. He’s once again showing himself to be one of the most deadly attackers on the planet, and Darmstadt face the nigh-on impossible task of stopping him finding some space in this fixture.
Upset potential: Low
Darmstadt’s excellent start to the season means they aren’t short on confidence as they head into this match. Nevertheless, their chances of causing an upset remain extremely limited. They’re almost certainly going to sit deep and compact, and try to stop Bayern scoring at the extent of creating goal scoring opportunities themselves. Alas, the Bavarians are so good on the ball that they’re almost certainly going to find a way through anyway, and it’s difficult to see anything other than a win for the visitors.
Darmstadt injuries and suspensions
Out: None. In doubt: Yannick Stark (ankle), Patrick Platins (thigh).
Bayern Munich injuries and suspensions
Out: Franck Ribéry (ankle), Holger Badstuber, Arjen Robben (thigh), Jan Kirchhoff (achilles), Medhi Benatia (thigh). In doubt: None.
Darmstadt will be hoping to have midfielder Yannick Stark and goalkeeper Patrick Platins back available after slight injury trouble, though otherwise have a fully-fit team. The same certainly cannot be said of Bayern, who still have five first-teamers on the sidelines, including wingers Franck Ribéry and Arjen Robben, and center back Medhi Benatia.
