After being such a rousing success in the Bundesliga last season, this one hasn't started so well for Borussia Mönchengladbach. In five league matches, they've lost five times, giving up twelve goals and scoring just twice. In their return to the Champions League, they got overrun by Sevilla, losing 3-0 in their first group stage match. All that losing and poor play had to result in something, and that something ended with the resignation of their manager, Lucien Favre.

— Sky Sport News HD (@SkySportNewsHD) September 20, 2015 Favre was a beloved figure among the fanbase after leading the team to a surprising third-place finish in the Bundesliga last season, but the unrest was palpable after a terrifying start to this season. They haven’t just had poor scheduling luck -- Gladbach got blown out by Hamburg, a team constantly flirting with relegation in recent years, and lost to lowly Köln and Mainz along the way.
Now Favre is out as a result of those poor performances, and Gladbach will be scrambling to find a replacement. Whoever they hire has a whole lot of work cut out for him.
